The newly harmonized next edition of the Ontario Building Code (OBC) has been filed. We are pleased to see that the code is taking a balanced approach to ensure that Ontario’s new housing stock and home renovations remain safe and affordable as we tackle the housing supply crisis.
The 2024 Building Code streamlines processes for the building sector and increases harmonization with the National Construction Codes by eliminating at least 1,730 technical variations between the provincial and national requirements.
