NHBA ANNOUNCES 2025 MEMBER & COMPANY OF THE YEAR

DECEMBER 9, 2025 – ST.CATHARINES, ON — On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, The Niagara Home Builders’ Association hosted their annual Christmas Celebration & Elimination Draw, which took place at the Holiday Inn Convention Centre in St. Catharines.

For over 20 years, the NHBA has paid recognition to the individuals and companies that are responsible for the Associations’ presence and viability, by awarding both a Member of the Year Award and Nick Basciano Company of the Year Award.
Paul Savoia, past NHBA Chair, current NHBA Board Member and Vice President of Niagara Pines Developments took home this year’s “Member of the Year” Award.

In his address to the audience, NHBA CEO, Chuck McShane noted that over his two terms as Chair, Paul navigated the Association through challenging issues including housing affordability, Development Charge increases and played a pivotal role in securing our Skills Development Funding, which has to date trained over 320 individuals for a career path into the skilled trades.

With an Association of over 160 Member companies, this year’s “Nick Basciano Company of the Year” Award recipient was Mountainview Building Group.
As a contributing Member to both the NHBA and the Niagara Community as a whole, Mountainview continues to build our Region, while playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Association and the building industry. Their partnerships with several local charitable groups have resulted in record breaking campaigns, benefiting FACS Niagara, The Niagara Children’s Centre, Hospice Niagara, Pathstone Children’s Mental Health, and the Ronald McDonald House just to name a few.

They are an innovative leader in shaping building practices and have made key contributions to Tarion and Building Knowledge Canada, prioritizing clarity, quality and accountability.
This year, the NHBA also paid homage to Antony Candeloro, a current NHBA Board Member and co-owner of Centennial Homes Niagara, who was presented with a Special Recognition award for his contributions to both the building industry and the community.

2025 “WALL OF FAME” INDUCTEE

December 9, 2025 – ST.CATHARINES, ONTARIO — Since 2017 The Niagara Home Builders’ Association has recognized Members through the highest achievement awarded by this local HBA; The Wall of Fame.

This year’s inductee has been a long-standing pillar within the building community; Mr. Chuck McShane, current CEO of the Niagara Home Builders’ Association.

“This award honours an individual who has made outstanding and lasting contributions to the Niagara Home Builders Association, strengthened our relationships and been a community supporter” commented NHBA Vice Chair, John Musso

Chuck’s involvement with this Association spans 30+ years, and an impressive 45 years within the building industry.

As a company owner, he joined the Association in 1995, and dove headfirst into every aspect the NHBA had to offer.

From serving time on the board as a director, Secretary, Vice President and President, Chuck has helped to shape the standard of excellence within our industry.
His commitment to this Association and our community has earned the respect of colleagues, Members, and government bodies both locally and provincially.

Chuck’s accolades stretch far beyond the construction industry, with community outreach that is unmatched. Throughout his career, Chuck has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities throughout the region including, Niagara Children’s Centre, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Niagara, The Steve Ludzik Foundation, Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre, NOTL Lions Club and Project SHARE.
