NHBA ANNOUNCES 2024 MEMBER & COMPANY OF THE YEAR
DECEMBER 6 , 2024– ST.CATHARINES, ON — On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, The Niagara Home Builders’ Association hosted their annual Christmas Celebration & Elimination Draw, which took place at the Holiday Inn Convention Centre in St. Catharines.
For over 20 years, the NHBA has paid recognition to the individuals and companies that are responsible for the Associations’ presence and viability, by awarding both a Member of the Year Award and Nick Basciano Company of the Year Award.
Sheryl L. Johnson, current NHBA Board Member and Partner with Sullivan Mahoney LLP took home this year’s “Member of the Year” Award.
In his address to the audience, NHBA CEO, Chuck McShane noted that Sheryl has been an active part of the Association for over 10 years who continues to provide strategic advice and perspective on construction industry related issues affecting NHBA Members. Additionally, Sheryl also sits on the Big Brother, Big Sisters of Niagara Board of Directors, where through her leadership and innovative vision has spearheaded several collaborative initiatives with the NHBA in order drive mentorship awareness and education.
“With support and encouragement comes confidence. Confidence coupled with knowledge of a career path in a trade helps build a strong foundation for the future for the Littles, our members, and the Niagara community as a whole.” Commented Johnson as she accepted her award.
With an Association of over 160 Member companies, this year’s “Nick Basciano Company of the Year” Award recipient was Silvergate Homes
While continuing to build our communities here in Niagara, Silvergate Homes has played a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Association.
This includes representation as a Board Member, as well as chairing several internal committees.
One of Silvergate Homes most recent community projects includes the development and construction of the new Ronald McDonald Family Room at Niagara Health’s St. Catharines site, including an additional pledge of $200,000 in support.
